Newark logistics firm will provide no fuss-no muss VGMs for US$10 a box
NEWARK's SalSon Logistics will offer certification services at new weight verification station, located at 672 Doremus Avenue in Newark, NJ, just a short distance from the company's headquarters.
The cost to obtain a Verified Gross Mass Declaration will be US$10 per unit, reports the American Journal of Transportation, of Plymouth, Massachusetts.
"There has been a great deal of confusion and uncertainty in our industry regarding the new verification requirements from the International Maritime Association," said SalSon president and CEO Anthony Berritto.
"SalSon decided to take a proactive approach in response to the growing need for accurate weight certifications, and our convenient location right in the heart of the port area makes us ideally situated to provide this service," he said.
The SalSon Weight Verification Station will be open to all trucking companies seeking weight certification, starting July 1 with no appointment necessary. The station will follow the same days and hours of operation as the port terminals.
