Atlanta-Doha flights boost Qatar's US cargo capacity to meet demand
QATAR Airways inaugural flight from Doha to Atlanta adds bellyhold cargo capacity to the carrier's four weekly flights between the two airports, reports New York's Air Cargo World.
With this, Qatar Airways offers a combined 744 tonnes of capacity per week on its Doha-Atlanta route, which it says it needs to meet demand.
Forbes magazine reports Atlanta is Qatar's 10th US destination, and the third new destination in the US this year, following Los Angeles in January and Boston in March.
Last month, Qatar doubled capacity on its New York-Doha route, adding a second daily flight. The airline now offers 5,000 seats a day between the US and Qatar.
