A-E up 37pc to US$720/TEU, Med ports rise 21.8pc, USWC up 4.6pc
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to Northern Europe jumped 37 per cent to US$720 per TEU in the week ending Friday, according to the Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
The Asia-Med component of the SCFI increased 21.8 per cent to US$918 per TEU, Reuters reported.
Shanghai to the US west coast rose 4.6 per cent to $788 per FEU as rates to the US east coast up 4.8 per cent to $1,622 per FEU.
