Mumbai's JNPCT breaks monthly record in April, up 35pc to 133,195 TEU
THE Jawaharlal Nehru Port Container Terminal (JNPCT) posted a 35 per cent year-on-year increase in April throughput to 133,195 TEU - its highest ever monthly volume.
This surpassed its best monthly volume of 132,155 TEU in August 2015, reported Dubai's Maritime Standard.
Moreover it was 12 per cent higher than the monthly average of last year, suggesting that the terminal will achieve a record breaking 2016, strengthening its position as the leading terminal with JN Port.
JNPCT is one of the three terminals within JN Port. A fourth terminal is under construction and is scheduled to open in 2017.
