Port of Oslo sees box traffic dive 8pc in 2015 to 195,460 TEU
THE Port of Oslo handled a total of 195,460 TEU in 2015, representing a decrease of 8.1 per cent compared to the previous year. Within this total, imports amounted to 102,873 TEU, down 10.7 per cent year on year, while exports at 92,587 TEU fell by 4.9 per cent.
The port's total cargo volume rose by a marginal 0.5 per cent to 5.77 million tons last year, with foreign traffic accounting for 3.69 million tons (down 0.3 per cent), and domestic 2.09 million tons of the total, up 1.9 per cent, reported the Baltic Transport Journal.
General cargo volume decreased 5.5 per cent to 2.22 million tons, followed by liquids with 1.92 million tons, down 4.1 per cent, while dry bulk at 1.63 million tons was up 17.4 per cent.
