FS Mackenzie relocates office to new Liverpool2 port development
FS Mackenzie (FSM) - the UK member of the FPS Group network of independent forwarders and consolidators - has moved into a new base in Waterloo, adjacent to the city's newly-built Liverpool2 port development at Seaforth.
FSM Liverpool was previously based in St Helens since opening 12 years ago. Its new base is now just two minutes from the Port of Liverpool and 10 minutes from Liverpool city centre.
Liverpool2 significantly increases capacity and improves performance at the deep water container port, which can handle 95 per cent of the world's biggest containerships.
Liverpool2 is predicted to create some 5,000 new jobs in the vicinity, and its completion has been attracting many businesses to the area, representing a variety of industries.
FSM Liverpool provides ocean, road and air freight forwarding for exports and imports. It also operates four weekly rail services (groupage and full loads) from Valencia to door and terminal (Dagenham) in the UK, supported by local collections at origin.
In addition to general cargo, FSM Liverpool specialises in the global export logistics of recoverable materials such as metal waste products, and project movements.
Said FSM Liverpool branch manager Steven Hughan: "The ongoing renewal and expansion of Liverpool's docks will have a significant impact on our business. We wanted to be a part of this regeneration, and had been looking for suitable accommodation here for some time."
