WEF: Brexit good for 3PLs short term, but they'll be sorry
WOLFGANG Lehmacher, head of supply chain and transport industries at the World Economic Forum (WEF), says forwarders and 3PLs could enjoy a boost as they manage the supply chain disruption anticipated if Britain left the European Union.
But the group that holds annual gatherings of the world's economic elite in Davos Switzerland every winter, stressed that over time, slower growth and tighter border controls will reduce revenues and increase costs, Lloyd's Loading List reported.
Mr Lehmacher outlined four post-Brexit scenarios as he assessed the potential impact on supply chains should British voters decide to leave the EU: complete independence, loose association with the EU, harmonisation with the EU and participation in another zone such as the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA).
