Hong Kong airport's April air cargo increases 1.2pc to 365,000 tonnes
HONG KONG International Airport (HKIA) recorded a 1.2 per cent year-on-year increase in air cargo volume in April to 365,000 tonnes, said the airport authority.
"The growth in cargo throughput last month was mainly attributed to a 10 per cent year-on-year growth in transshipments," said a spokesman.
"Traffic to and from key trading regions in Europe and mainland China increased most significantly in the month," he said.
During the first four months of 2016, HKIA cargo traffic decreased by 2.3 per cent to 1.4 million tonnes. On a rolling 12-month basis, cargo throughput declined 1.2 per cent to 4.35 million tonnes.
