Patrick Ottensmeyer succeeds Starling as CEO of Kansas City Southern
PATRICK Ottensmeyer, 59, has been named CEO of the Kansas City Southern (KCS) railway effective July 1, succeeding David Starling, who remains president.
KCS said the move was part of its executive succession plan. As part of that plan, Mr Starling will serve as senior advisor to the CEO, starting July 1 and continue until his retirement on December 31.
Mr Ottensmeyer joined Kansas City Southern in 2006 as its executive vice president and chief financial officer. In 2008, he was named executive vice president of sales and marketing, and appointed president in 2015.
