THE UK's chilled food distribution solutions provider NFT has opened a 230,000-square foot temperature controlled quayside distribution hub at Tilbury Dock that has the capability to handle 2.5 million cases per week.
The US$28.5 million London Logistics Facility has become the largest temperature-controlled quayside distribution hub in Europe, and will create 500 jobs, according to port owner and operator Forth Ports.
"The new NFT London facility is very impressive and the link it provides between the shipping companies and the food retailers is undoubtedly going to be of great value to the UK," said Lord Mayor of London Jeffrey Evans in American Shipper.
