Iranian non-official news agency takes note of IRISL's Alphaliner ranking
IRAN's Mehr News Agency (MNA), a private, non-official wire service, has taken note that its national flag carrier the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) has been ranked by Paris container consultancy, Alphaliner, as ranking 22nd in world league tables.
"Alphaliner's May list gives Iran's IRISL a TEU of 12,079 with 155 ships and a deadweight tonnage of 5,131,002," said the MNA report.
"APM-Maersk tops the list with 611 ships and a TEU of 3,085,233. Swiss MSC comes second with 446 ships and TEU of 2,680,153, with French CMA CGM standing in the 3rd place with 456 ships and TEU of 1,792,807," said the dispatch.
