First woman elected to Kuehne + Nagel board from Deutsche Borse

THE annual general meeting of Swiss forwarding giant Kuehne + Nagel International AG elected its first female board member Hauke Stars.

She succeeds Bernd Wrede, who did not stand for re-election. The board thanked Mr Wrede for 17 years service, contributing to shape the course of the Kuehne + Nagel Group. 



Ms Stars has been a member of the executive board, Deutsche Borse AG, having started her career in 1992 at Bertelsmann mediaSystems GmbH, Gutersloh, Germany.



From 1998 to 2004 she worked for ThyssenKrupp Information Systems GmbH, Krefeld, renamed to Triaton GmbH in 2000. 



In 2004 Ms Stars joined Hewlett Packard Netherlands BV, Utrecht, as member of the country management. From 2007 to 2012 she was managing director of Hewlett Packard Switzerland and country manager for Enterprise Systems.



Joerg Wolle was elected chairman for a one-year term. Honourary chairman Klaus-Michael Kuehne expressed his gratitude to Karl Gernandt for his five-year term as chairman. 



Mr Gernandt will now fully focus on the portfolio of Kuehne Holding AG, and expand its business activities.
