MOL hikes Asia-southern Africa rate US$250 per TEU from May 15
JAPANESE shipping giant MOL Liner has announced a rate increase of US$250 per TEU and $500 per FEU from May 15 on all cargo from Asia to southern Africa.
"This GRR [general rate restoration] action is essential for us to sustain our service level," said a statement from the company.
For the purposes of the announcement, Asia includes the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East. Southern Africa includes South Africa, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
