Tuticorin's PSA Sical posts monthly throughput record of 50,225 TEU
PSA SICA Terminals Limited (PSA Sical), a joint venture between PSA India and Sical Logistics at Tuticorin on the south east coast of India, has achieved its highest ever monthly throughput of 50,225 TEU in March, 2016, reports the UK's Port Technology.
PSA India managing director Mike Formoso said: "This is an immense achievement given the severe capacity constraints and challenging environment PSA Sical is facing and a testament to PSA Sical's tireless efforts to serve the trade over the past 15 years.
Said VO Chidambaranar Port Trust chairman Chandra Bose: "PSA Sical's systematic growth to serve the increasing expectations of the Exim Trade."
Said Tuticorin Shipagents Association president Joe Villavarayar: "It is heartening to note that Tuticorin port container volumes have scaled a record high at 61,390 TEU for the month of March 2016.
