NYK ship rescues 14 people on a troubled raft at sea off Chile
JAPAN's NYK wood-chip carrier, the 60,527-dwt Hokuetsu Ushaka, rescued 14 people in distress off the coast of Chile when it responded to an alert from a troubled raft.
The people were rescued on March 17 while the NYK vessel was sailing from Japan to Chile in the South Pacific Ocean.
The ship's crew administered first aid to those in need of medical attention before they were safely handed over to the Chile coast guard at sea.
