Dachser combines R&D with corporate solutions into one unit
COMBINING its research and development activities, German logistics provider Dachser has established a new central organisational unit, corporate solutions, R&D, headed by manager Stefan Hohm, who has led the logistics centre in Hof for seven years.
A company statement said the new team will implement worldwide supply chains for customers from "focus" industries. The new unit will also work closely with corporate development & strategy, and corporate IT. Mr Hohm will report to CEO Bernhard Simon.
The responsibilities of the new unit also include new and continuing development of value-added services, which complement (upstream or downstream) transport and warehousing in its groupage network. This includes value-added and premium services associated with deliveries to end customers.
"We strive to understand the complex logistics requirements of different industries down to the last detail, develop custom-tailored solutions, and implement them worldwide by way," said Mr Hohm.
