Shanghai's PACTL airport groundhandler earns CEIV-Pharma certificate
SHANGHAI Pudong International Airport Cargo Terminal Co Ltd (PACTL) has become the first mainland terminal to earn IATA抯 Centre of Excellence for Independent Validators (CEIV) certification for the safe handling of pharmaceuticals.
PACTL recently opened its new, cool-chain centre, measuring more than 11,000 square feet and featuring various climate zones designed to support the continuous cool-chain care needed.
The facility can handle up to 100,000 tonnes of temperature-sensitive air cargo each year, using non-toxic refrigerants.
By obtaining the CEIV-Pharma certification, PACTL抯 Cool Centre is in full compliance with all applicable handling standards expected from pharma manufacturers, in terms of its facilities, equipment, operations and staff.
The certification also demonstrates that PACTL is able to provide a seamless cool chain transport between the terminal and apron.
