VSTEP installs NAUTIS training simulator to HELMEPA in Greece
VSTEP, an ISO 9001:2008 certified developer of simulators and virtual training software, has delivered and installed a NAUTIS DNV Class A Full Mission Bridge (FMB) Simulator and Instructor Station, to the HELMEPA premises in Athens.
The simulator will be used to teach navigation and manoeuvring skills to personnel of the organisation's member shipping companies.
"We are proud to announce that a non-profit organisation like HELMEPA has joined the VSTEP simulator family," said VSTEP sales director Joost van Ree. "Our FMB simulator allows HELMEPA members to train effectively ship and boat handling skills in compliance with the latest IMO requirements and model courses," he said.
HELMEPA in its capacity as the "Maritime Training Centre for Pollution Prevention, Safety at Sea and Environmental Awareness," is offering its members refresher training using the simulator donated by DNV GL in appreciation of the voluntary training HELMEPA has been offering to its members for 33 years.
