Asia Pacific Rail to draw 2,000 to HK Conference & Ex Centre March 22
THE Asia Pacific Rail 2016 convention expects 2,000 delegates to gather at its convention from March 22 - 23 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to hear some of the 100 speakers and see 100 exhibition booths showcasing the latest rail technologies.
"Returning for the 18th year in Hong Kong, Asia Pacific Rail will bring rail leaders from across the globe together under one roof to tackle challenges head on," say organisers.
Alongside the conference, the exhibition will feature over 35 exhibitors, 20 technical seminar presentations and up to 1,000 attendees walking the floor.
Product demonstrations, networking and seminar presentations will be providing visitors with a one-stop shop to gaining insights and updates on the industry.
Expected are more than 500 rail operators and authorities to share strategies and case studies on topics such as asset management, communications, freight, IT, big data, operational efficiency, rail power, rail ticketing, signalling and more.
Asia's rail industry is poised for serious growth. With over 6,500 kilometres of rail projects currently planned or announced in Asia, billions are being invested into the region, say conference organisers.
"But we need infrastructure upgrades, we need to improve cost management of these mega projects, and of course, we need to deliver on passengers' increasing expectations as we move into the age of the smart digital railway," they say.
The two-day conference will feature innovations in metro, high-speed rail, mainline passenger and freight.
Sharing their insights are senior leaders from MTR, London Underground, Auckland Transport, China Railways, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, Hyperloop Technologies, Myanmar Railways, Heathrow Express, SMRT Corporation, Seoul Line 9 Operation Co Ltd, State Railway of Thailand, Sydney Trains, Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation and many more.
Key highlights include Chong Kheng Chua, deputy chief executive, Infrastructure & Development, Land Transport Authority, Singapore; Dirk Ahlborn, CEO, Hyperloop Transportation Technologies; and Jacob Kam, operations director, MTR Corporation.
Alongside the senior level conference, the exhibition will feature over 35 exhibitors, 20 technical seminar presentations and up to 1,000 delegates walking the floor.
