British UK freight firm DB Schenker Rail re-brands as DB Cargo UK

BRITAIN's biggest rail freight firm, DB Schenker Rail UK, will re-brand as DB Cargo UK as part of a pan-European re-branding scheme over the course of the year, reports Lloyd's Loading List.

DB Cargo UK chief executive Geoff Spencer said the "DB Schenker" brand will continue to be used by the DB group's global logistics business, while rail freight transport will use "DB Cargo".

"The name change has no impact on existing contracts or commercial arrangements. Over time, you will see the new logo on our documentation, buildings, and communication. Other than this, it's business as usual," he said.

"The re-brand represents the further alignment of our brand with the group," he said.

Mr Spencer said he believes the re-brand would further build recognition in the markets where the company operates.

"Although we are separating our logistics and rail businesses from each other by name, we will of course continue to offer integrated rail transport and logistics services throughout Europe where it makes sense for the market and our customers," he said.
