XPO harbour truckers join strike against Pacific 9 in LA and Long Beach

DRAYAGE drivers employed by XPO Logistics subsidiaries, XPO Cartage and XPO Port Services, serving Los Angeles and Long Beach ports are joining the strike against Pacific 9 Transportation that started last July.

The Teamsters Port Division and its affiliate Justice for Port Truck Drivers announced that drivers in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach will target Pacific 9 Transportation (Pac 9) and XPO Logistics in protests, starting from February 29, reported American Shipper.

The drivers launched the industrial action last summer in protest of what they claim are unfair labour practices, including misclassification and "wage theft".

The Teamsters union said the drivers who plan to go on strike are misclassified truckers at XPO Cartage and XPO Port Services. They will deploy "ambulatory picketing" tactics at marine terminals in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach.
