China-Nigeria trade volume dives 17pc 2015 to US$14.94 billion
CHINA's trade volume with Nigeria fell 17 per cent in 2015 year on year to US$14.94 billion, according to China's Ambassador to Nigeria Gu Xiaojie.
Mr Gu made the announcement at a symposium in Abuja to mark the 45th anniversary of China/Nigeria diplomatic relations, where he exchanged views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern with the Nigerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama.
He said Nigeria remains the largest market for Chinese contracted projects, second largest market for Chinese exports and China's third largest trading partner in Africa, reported the Lagos Daily Trust newspaper.
Director of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Abuja, Charles Onunaiju, said Nigeria can explore opportunities provided by "One Belt, One Road," a global development strategy introduced by China's President Xi Jinping.
