Maersk to levy US$100/TEU rate hike from east coast South America April 1
MAERSK Line, the world's biggest container carrier, has announced a General Rate Increase of US$100 per TEU, $200 per FEU, $200 per FEU high cube and $200 per 45-foot highcube dry from April 1 on all cargo from the east coast of South America to Europe, Middle East and the Indian subcontinent.
For the purposes of this general rate increase (GRI), the area covered is Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay to Europe and Middle East and Indian subcontinent.
The same GRI also applies from the east coast of South America to Far East Asia, Oceania, Pacific Ocean Islands and southern Africa.
