Virginia Port Authority reports 0.4pc January box rise to 192,844 TEU
CONTAINER volumes at Virginia port's terminals increased 0.4 per cent in January year on year to 192,844 TEU, reported the Virginian-Pilot newspaper.
From July through January, the first seven months of the fiscal year, box volume grew 2.8 per cent.
"Though modest our volumes in January were the best on record for that month said Virginia Port Authority CEO John Reinhart.
"Truck container volume for the month was up 1.2 per cent, but rail throughput fell 2.5 per cent.
