STS forum comes to London March 17-18 to talk minimising risks
THE International Forum on ship to ship transfer operations 2016 (IFSTS) is to be held on 17th-18th March at the premises of Clyde & Co in London.
Organised by DYNAMARINe and Clyde & Co, the seminar will highlight the need to avoid a catastrophic incident while conducting a ship-to-ship (STS) transfer operation.
The only way to avoid a potential accident is to manage these operations prudently and to continuously evaluate the induced risks.
A panel of experts will look at the risks involved in an STS operation chaired by Claudene Sharp, UK Head of Marine, Nobel Denton marine services, DNV GL and an ex Director Vetting & Audits Europe/Asia for Phillips 66.
The participants will include Ajay Gour, Intertanko Chemicals & Vetting, regional manager Indian sub-continent, Middle East & Africa; Stan Woznicki, head of counter pollution & salvage - UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency; JC Boon, sector coordinator, harbour master policy department, Port of Rotterdam; Stuart Edmonston, loss prevention director; Thomas Miller P&I (Europe); a representative of Lloyd's Register; Martyn Haines, master mariner, Clyde & Co; Ed Mills-Webb, partner, Clyde & Co; Alexandros Glykas, management, marine policy, operations, DYNAMARINe; Stylianos Perissakis, management, marine policy, operations, DYNAMARINe plus two representatives from tanker operators.
