China cuts port fees for Liberian vessels to what Chinese ships pay
LIBERIA will be added to the preferential list of countries when determining tonnage dues for vessels calling Chinese ports only having to pay same amount as Chinese-flagged vessels from February 14, reports GAC Hot Port News.
According to the Liberian Maritime Authority's Marine Notice INT-003 this is implementation of the Agreement between the Government of PRC and the Government of the Republic of Liberia on Maritime Transport signed on November 3.
The change applies to Liberian flagged vessels entering and or operating in Chinese ports. The same measures shall be reciprocally applicable to Chinese flagged vessels entering and or operating in Liberian ports.
