AeroGround wins control of ground-handling at Berlin airports
AEROGROUND Berlin, a newly formed subsidiary of Flughafen Munchen (FMG), an airport group based in southern Germany, is to take over ground-handling at Berlin Tegel Airport over the next few months.
Under the new arrangement, FMG's ground-handling subsidiary, AeroGround Flughafen Munchen, has acquired 100 per cent of Tegel's current ground handler, Acciona Airport Services Berlin, from Spanish parent company, Acciona. The deal also includes the purchase of HSD Flughafen, reported Atlanta area Air Cargo World.
The merger of the two subsidiaries includes the workforce, fleet, all delivery and service relations of Acciona Berlin and the concession for the Berlin-Tegel Airport.
The contract will also apply to the new Berlin-Brandenburg Airport, whenever it is completed. Last July, AeroGround Flughafen Munchen was also awarded the concession for Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport.
