CMA CGM adds Dunkirk call to EURAF 1 service; reshuffles Asia-Chennai's CIMEX 2E
FRENCH shipping line CMA CGM has added a Dunkirk import call to its weekly EURAF 1 service that plies the trade between Europe and West Africa, and also reshuffled its CIMEX 2E service linking Asia to Chennai on the east coast of India.
Effective since the beginning of this month, the amended EURAF 1 port rotation is: Dunkirk (import), Tilbury, Antwerp, Dunkirk (export), Le Havre, Montoir, Tanger Med, Algeciras, Dakar, Abidjan, Dakar, Algeciras, Dunkirk (import).
The EURAF 1 service is operated by six vessels of 3,500 TEU. Inland solutions are also available allowing a service from Dunkirk to Bamako (Mali) in 26 days and to Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) in 22 days.
As for the weekly CIMEX 2E service its revised port rotation is: Busan, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Singapore, Port Kelang, Chennai, Port Kelang, Singapore, Manila, returning to Busan.
The service uses five ships of 5,000 TEU, and offers a transit time of 13 days from Shanghai to Chennai.
The company said in a statement: "By further strengthening its fourth service connecting Asia base ports to the Indian Subcontinent, CMA CGM is providing an enhanced coverage in the region on this growing market."
