HK port down 9.5pc in 2015 to 20.1 million TEU, Singapore down 8.7pc
FIGURES from the Hong Kong Marine Department showed the total container volume for 2015 fell 9.5pc to 20.1 million TEU year on year.
In December the port handled 1.56 million representing a year-on-year decrease of 10.6 per cent from 1.78 million TEU in December last year.
Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority reported a 8.7 per cent decrease in container movement in 2015 to 30.9 million TEU compared to 33.7 million TEU the previous.
In December the port handled 2.5 million TEU compared to 2.9 million TEU representing a 13.5pc decrease year on year.
Again claiming the title as the world's busiest box port, Shanghai has posted a 3.5 per cent year-on-year increase in 2015 container volume to 36.54 million TEU.
