Empire Aerospace expands service to Embraer ERJ 145 regional jets
EMPIRE Aerospace, a unit US-based cargo operator Empire Airlines, has expanded its dedicating its offering to include Embraer ERJ 145 regional jets, owing to a "lack of growth" for turboprop operations in North America.
Empire said the amendment to its operations specifications to include the ERJ jets will provide the company with additional market opportunities with operators of regional jet aircraft, reported Seatrade Maritime News.
The decision to add ERJ 145 capability came about following talks with operators attending the two Regional Airline Association conventions in St Louis and Cleveland. Empire also sought help from its customers and the US Federal Aviation Administration in amending its operations specifications.
Headquartered in Idaho, Empire Aerospace provides heavy maintenance service to a number of regional carriers based in the US and Canada, as well as aircraft modifications.
