Kuehne + Nagel picks Singapore as based to serve ASEAN region
SWISS forwarding giant Kuehne + Nagel has opened a new hub in Singapore close to pharmaceutical, healthcare and manufacturing centres.
The new facility measures 50,000 square metres, with 46,000-square metres of warehousing and is company's biggest investment outside of Europe.
Said company chairman Klaus-Michael Kuehne: "The new facility provides the necessary end-to-end, value-added supply chain capabilities to support our customers through Asia's complex trade and logistics landscape."
Aside from the standard freight and warehousing service offerings, the new hub for high-tech, industrial, pharmaceutical and healthcare customers, offering "value-chain transformation solutions."
More than 40 per cent of the new logistics hub has been furnished with advanced chilled storage, redressing and postponement facilities to support the growing base of pharmaceutical and healthcare companies operating in Asia.
