Kerry Logistics establishes new IT development hub in Penang,
HONG KONG's Kerry Logistics Network Ltd as opened its first IT Development Centre in Penang, Malaysia, to harness internet technology in support of its rapidly expanding international operations.
As part of its overall IT development strategy, the company will use the Penang facility as a support centre to share resources with different offices globally to increase operational efficiency at cut costs.
"The Penang government has played an important role in promoting the IT development of this city, making it one of the preferred Asia technology bases of many international IT giants," said Kerry chairman George Yeo.
"Establishing our IT Development Centre in this dynamic city will provide us readily available local IT resources, a strong pool of multilingual talents, and good infrastructure support."
The Kerry statement said it "aspires to lead the next wave of Internet Plus oriented solutions by combining IT, Big Data technology with its strong business and operational knowledge to help clients boost supply chain efficiency and timeliness to market."
