Singapore Maritime Port Authority drops Ebola health declaration demand
THE Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has announced the cessation of compulsory maritime health declarations by vessels for Ebola (EVD) monitoring measures, reports GAC Hot Port News.
The MPA's Circular No 14 of 2015 of December 31 advises that the World Health Organisation has officially declared Guinea free of the Ebola virus, and with regard to the National Environment Agency's (Port Health Office) updated requirement, all vessels that had been to the previously Ebola affected countries in the previous 21 days, are no longer required to submit the Maritime Declaration of Health Form to the Port Health Office.
