Qatar Airways Cargo to add new freighter route to Dallas/Fort Worth
QATAR Airways Cargo will launch a new freighter route to Dallas/Fort Worth from Liege in early 2016 and more services can be expected as the year progresses, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The Doha-based airline will start the service on January 19 using a Boeing 777F to fly twice per week between the Belgian and US airports.
The service hopes to capitalise on growth in industries located in the Dallas area including: defence, financial services, information technology and data, life sciences, semiconductors, telecommunications, transportation, and processing.
Qatar's space to Dallas will increase the 400 tonnes of export cargo capacity per month, currently transported as bellyhold cargo on Qatar Airways' passenger services, to 1,000 tonnes of exports a month.
Import capacity into Dallas will increase to a total of 300 tonnes per month.
