Hactl signs Myanmar National Airlines' new Yangon-Hong Kong flights
HONG KONG Air Cargo Terminals Limited (Hactl) has been appointed by Myanmar National Airlines to handle its new service from Yangon to Hong Kong that was launched on December 4.
The new service flies four times per week and is operated by Boeing 737-800 aircraft. It is the airline's second international route.
The state-owned flag carrier of Myanmar flies to 26 domestic destinations and traces its origins back to 1948. Its predecessor Union of Burma Airways served Hong Kong from the early 1950s until 1993. After 22 years of isolation Myanmar National Airlines is now re-emerging onto the international stage, and investing in a new fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
Said Hactl executive director Vivien Lau: "This new service is part of the exciting developments in Myanmar as a whole. It's a country with huge potential for international trade, and we are pleased and proud to play a part in the creation of its links with the world."
