A-E rate off 50.4pc to US$275/TEU, down 4.8pc to USWC, off 4.4pc to USEC
SPOT rates for shipping containers from Asia to northern Europe fell 50.4 per cent to US$275 per TEU in the week ending on Friday, according to Shanghai Containerised Freight Index (SCFI).
Rates also fell 4.8 per cent to ports on the US west coast to $891 per FEU and were down 4.4 per cent to $1,624 per FEU to ports on the US east coast, Reuters reported.
But SCFI rates went up 24.6 per cent on the Asia-Mediterranean trade last Friday to $780 per TEU.
