Maersk and MacGregor announce cooperation on developing new box lashings
MAERSK Line and MacGregor, the Cargotec unit that makes and designs cargo handling gear, have agreed to cooperate on the development of new of container securing systems.
The two have cooperated within securing systems since the containership sizes started to grow from feeder to ultra-large box ships.
"MacGregor has a long history as leading supplier of container securing systems," said Maersk Line vice president Ole Graa Jakobsen, head of technical operations.
"We are committed to offering our customers competitive ocean transportation, and extending our cooperation with MacGregor will contribute to our continued success," said Mr Jakobsen.
Said MacGregor vice president Leif Bystrom: "Maersk Line is the world's leading container shipping company. I am convinced that this will benefit both parties, as the ship sizes continue to grow with increasing efficiency requirements."
