K + N's 'KN FreightNet' solution is now available for sea freight LCL bookings
SWISS forwarder Kuehne + Nagel, which first introduced its digital 'KN FreightNet' in 2014, has now expanded the solution to cover sea freight quotations and bookings of door-to-door less-than-container load (LCL) services.
Using KN FreightNet for LCL, customers can obtain quotes for export and import shipments online and are able to place their orders faster than ever. No pre-registration is needed as the platform can be accessed by everyone, a statement said.
Quotations are based on shipment details such as place of origin, final destination, weight and volume. Users receive a structured overview of the all-inclusive door-to-door price including all applicable surcharges, as well as the estimated transit time.
Executive vice president Sea Logistics, Otto Schacht, said: "We are proud to be the pioneer in our industry to make LCL quotations and bookings as easy as possible for our customers."
