Oliver Evans of Swiss Air joins drone maker Matternet
MATTERNET, a California-based drone provider, has named Oliver Evans as its new head of global business development.
Mr Evans will be based in Switzerland. He was previously the chief cargo officer at Swiss International Air Lines, responsible for its air cargo and postal business worldwide, a position he held for 12 years.
"Oliver is one of the most recognised leaders in global air logistics. His visionary thinking, vast industry experience and track record in executing sharply focused go-to-market strategies is a huge asset to Matternet," Matternet chief executive Andreas Raptopoulos was quoted as saying in a report by Air Cargo News.
In July, Swiss Post and Swiss WorldCargo launched a project to test the commercial possibilities of drone use in the logistics sector in partnership with Matternet.
