UPS joins Tunisian airline to provide express service to African capitals
ATLANTA's United Parcel Service (UPS) has joined Tunisia-based Express Logistics to create Express Air Cargo, a "pan-African" cargo airline to handle rising demand for express services in Africa.
The new entity, based at Enfidha Airport, between Tunis and Sousse, is expected to begin operations in January 2016 and reach a total of 51 Africa capitals, stretching as far as South Africa and Ghana.
Earlier this year, UPS-Express Logistics began reciprocal joint freighter flights to Enfidha to provide connections to Malta and to UPS' hub in Cologne/Bonn. This UPS-Express Logistics service uses BAe ATP freighters operated by West Air Sweden.
