Hapag-Lloyd reefers to be transshipped after Mataquito engine failure
THE reefer-rich 6,589-TEU Mataquito, docked at Pacific Port of Manzanillo, Mexico, reported a main engine failure, Germany's Hapag-Lloyd said in its press release.
A repair plan is already in place, the company said. In the meantime Hapag-Lloyd has berthed to discharge all its reefer cargo for transshipment onto the first available vessel to Asia.
The dry cargo will remain on board to continue its voyage once vessel has completed repair which is to take place this week. The incident will delay all shipments by two weeks.
