Air China to start flights from Beijing to New Jersey's Newark Airport
AIR China is adding more flights to its Beijing to Newark from October 26 that will serve Newark Liberty International Airport, one of the three main airports in New York alongside JFK Airport and La Guardia Airport.
With the new flights it will become the only Chinese carrier to serve Newark Airport. Up to now, the carrier has been operating two daily flights from Beijing Capital International Airport to JFK.
The airline said in a statement that it made the decision to serve Newark because of the airport's well-developed transportation network and ideal geographical location.
Flight CA819/820 Beijing-New York (Newark Airport) is to be operated on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The outbound flight departs from Beijing Capital International Airport at 09:35 and arrives in Newark Airport at 11:05, all local times.
The inbound flight departs from New York at 13:25 and arrives in Beijing at 14:55 Beijing time the following day. The flights are to be operated with Boeing 777-300 aircraft.
Air China has been expanding its footprint in the Americas, after putting a Boeing 747-8 into service on its Beijing-New York route at the beginning of the year, increasing its Beijing-Los Angeles service to three daily flights in May and it will start the Beijing-Montreal service in September.
Currently, the airline serves eight destinations in North America , including New York, Washington D.C., Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Vancouver, Montreal and Hawaii, offering 140 flights per week operated with Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 747-8 aircraft.
