Kuehne + Nagel to lose Carrefour and close big French warehouse.
KUEHNE + NAGEL has lost the regional logistics contract with Carrefour as their agreement will not be extended after it expires at the end of the year due to supply chain re-organisation at the French retail giant.
As a result the logistics provider's 42,000-square-metre warehouse in Libercourt in northern France that employs 127 staff is to be closed down in March 2016. The warehouse is dedicated to handling shipments of beers destined for outlets of the Carrefour store chain in the region.
K+N is understood to have offered the soon-to-be redundant workers the opportunity to apply for 219 vacant posts elsewhere in the company, reported Lloyd's Loading List.
