Japan's NYK establishes logistics firm for finished cars in Colombia
JAPANESE shipping and logistics heavyweight, NYK Group, has signed a joint venture agreement with Intermodal SA to establish the NYK Auto Logistics Colombia SAS (NYKCOL), a logistics company for finished cars.
The development comes as finished car imports to Colombia from Mexico is expected to increase. The joint venture has teamed up with terminal operator Puerto Bahia to operate a finished car logistics terminal at the port of Cartagena in the north of Colombia.
The agreement with Intermodal SA will lead to NYKCOL expanding services to include inland transport and storage in response to expanding demand, a said a company statement.
