Box throughput drops 5.3pc in June to 210,069 TEU at Yokohama
JAPAN's port of Yokohama's cargo volumes fell by five per cent year on year in June to 9.669 million tonnes, as both foreign and domestic trade shrank, according to municipal government figures.
Foreign trade slid 5.5 per cent to 6.245 million tonnes, while domestic trade declined by 4.2 per cent to 3.424 million tonnes.
June's container traffic was down 5.3 per cent against the previous year to 210,069 TEU, with exports falling 4.2 per cent to 114,225 TEU and import volume contracting 6.6 per cent to 95,844 TEU.
