Bulgaria closes airspace to Russian transports with cargo to help Syria
THE Bulgarian Foreign Ministry has refused Russian military transports overflight rights on their way to supply their troops in Syria who are defending the Syrian government against rebels.
The Bulgarians say the Russians have been lying about the purpose of the flights and the cargo. Moscow says they are supplying humanitarian aid, reports Atlanta area Air Cargo World.
Reuters reported that the United States requested Greece and Bulgaria close their airspace for Russian flights to Syria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said this was "international boorishness," saying it is helping Damascus fight Islamic militants rebels, some of whom have United States support.
