Taiwan's Taoyuan airport posts world's 9th highest cargo volume
CARGO volume handled by Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in the first half was the ninth highest in the world, the airport said, citing a report released by Airports Council International (ACI).
Some 1.02 million tonnes of freight and mail was loaded and unloaded at the Taoyuan airport during in the six-month period, boosting the country's main gateway one place in the ACI's annual rankings in that category.
Last year, the Taoyuan airport was ranked 10th worldwide in terms of air cargo handling, recording a total 2.08 million tonnes, reported Taiwan's China News Agency.
