CMA CGM hikes rate US$500, $200/TEU from Asia to Arabia, N Africa
FRENCH shipping giant CMA CGM will levy rate increases from Asia to Africa and Arabia later this month in what it calls a Rate Restoration Programme.
Effective September 15, it will be US$200 per TEU extra charged on cargo from Asia to Red Sea, namely from Japan, southeast Asia and Bangladesh to Jeddah, Ain Sokhna (Egypt), Aqaba, Djibouti, Port Sudan and Aden.
Effective September 20 will be $500 per TEU extra charged from the Far East, including Japan to Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco and Libya.
