Hong Kong's OOCL awarded for environmental achievement in Singapore
HONG KONG's Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) has received the 2015 Singapore Environmental Achievement Award (Regional) (SEAA) at a ceremony held by the Singapore Environment Council's (SEC) 20th Anniversary Gala, the company announced.
The award was received in presence of Vivian Balakrishnan, Minister for the Environment and Water Resources of Singapore, who was the guest of honour.
Recognised by the community as one of the most prestigious and reputable environmental award schemes in Singapore, it was launched by the then minister for the environment Yeo Cheow Tong in 1997 to honour outstanding organisations and companies for their overall environmental stewardship.
Upon receiving the award, PC Wu, OOCL's Taiwan and ASEAN affair chief said: "We thank the SEC and all those involved in the awards scheme for this recognition. It is truly an honour."
