AMTES wins FAA licence for maintenance at Leipzig/Halle for US planes
AIRCRAFT Maintenance and Engineering Service GmbH (AMTES) has been granted a licence by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide maintenance checks to aircraft registered in the US at Leipzig/Halle airport, Germany.
The company is authorised to maintain Boeing 747-8 Freighters, B-747-400 and B747-200/300s (CF6, PW-4000). The enhanced C14 rating enables the company to repair wheels and brakes removed from US-registered B747-400/8 freighters.
In the event that customers want to use its line maintenance station at Frankfurt airport, the company said it will "take the necessary action to get the station certificated by the FAA through the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA)".
Said AMTES managing director Ildar Ilyasov: "We are very interested in developing relationships with American air carriers and are ready to welcome them to our hangar facilities and to meet our personnel to demonstrate the high quality of our services."
